10. Last EXILE
In a polluted, warring world, two friends, Klaus Valca and Lavie Head, both 15, set off in a vanship left to them by their fathers to make their home in the sky. The couple are intrusted a young girl, Alvis Hamilton, by a dying airship pilot. They are told to deliver her to a certain captain. As one event leads on to the next, the three are dragged into the war that will decide their world's fate.
9. Hunter X Hunter
Gon aspires to become a Hunter, someone with a license to travel anywhere and do anything. His ultimate quest is to meet is father, Ging, who is already a hunter. Now, only a series of bizzare tests stand in his way.
8. 12 Kokuki
Yoko Nakajima was as model student at home and school, until one day a mysterious man Keiki showed up and recognized Yoko as his master. Now he has taken Yoko and some of her classmates into a fantasy world of 12 kingdoms, where she loses Keiki and the group. She becomes hunted by demons and mistreated by friends, Yoko finds her inner strength to overcome the ordeal and find her destiny.
7. Gundam SEED
The conflict between the Earth Alliance and the Zaft, which started out as mere economic troubles, has ground to a stalemate. Both sides decided to turn to war, er, alternate diplomacy. This story picks up a year later, as the Zaft raid a neutral satellite to capture Earth's newest Gundam suits. A college student named Kira Yamoto, is pulled into the battle when he finds out that some of his old friends are now the enemy.

The great Pirate King, Gol D. Rodgers, left the fabulous treasure he accumulated before his death to whoever found it first, giving this cryptic message as a clue: "I left it all in One Piece." The young Luffy, a boy who can stretch himself due to a run-in with an irate restraunt owner, sets out to become the next great Pirate King and find One Piece with his hilariously crazy crew.

After the year 2071 A.D. and the dispersal of humans from the planet Eden, with new twisted concepts of justice, freedom, violence, and love. Spike and Jet are two "cowboy" bounty hunters from Eden who search the galaxy for criminals in their spaceship, the Bebop. Along the way, they meet many different characters in their hilarious adventures, such as the intelligent dog Ein, the hacker-child Ed, and the assassin Faye Valentine.
4. Avatar, The Last Air Bender
This doesn't quite qualify as anime, as it isn't Japanese, but the style is the same, and it deserves a spot here. In a world of warring factions based from martial arts styles of elements, the Fire Nation seeks the Avatar in a bloody war. Two young children from an arctic tribe, Katara and Sokka stumble across a young boy named Aang, the last of the airbenders frozen in a glacier. The series keeps up with comedy and plenty of awesome action as Aang and his friends trek to restore harmony to the elements.
3. Fullmetal Alchemist
In a world where magic is science, there are people who have powers over substances. These people are known as alchemists. One of the more famous alchemists, Edward Elric, the Fullmetal Alchemist, almost lost his little brother Alphonse in an accident, but managed to save his soul in a suit of armor. Now the two adventure out to find the Philosopher's Stone to regain what they lost, as all great power comes with a price.
2. Elfen Lied
The Diclonius are humans with a pair of horns and a supernatural ability that can be described as a sixth sense. They were locked away, but one Diclonius girl named Lucy escaped and killed her guards. She was shot in the head while escaping, but survived, developing a split personality. She is rescued by two teenagers, Khota, and Yuka, and now unwittingly lives among the people her other self despises.
1. Rurouni Kenshin - Reminiscense
The prequel to the popular Rurouni Kenshin series, a young boy named Shinta is saved by a master swordsman. The master instructs him in the way of the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryuu, an amazing sword technique, and renames the boy Kenshin. Young Kenshin then sees the innocents who are killed, and goes to kill to protect those people as the story of his cross-shaped scar unfolds.
